Pediatric Symptom Checklist-17 (PSC-17)
Too active, just slow in speaking, and poor concentration.
Is it just a phase, or there’s something more?
Children are individuals aged below 18. At each of the development age, there are vital milestones to accomplish, unlocking new experiences and growth. Children express their thoughts and feelings differently as compared to adults.
They may internalize their feelings, feeling sad inside but not expressing it outwardly. In such situation, you may notice your child withdrawn, not socializing much, looks sad/anxious, and prefers to be alone.
Some would externalize their feelings through behaviours, such as throwing tantrums, beating and disobeying others.
Living in a fast-paced world, children may experience difficulties catching up. They are in faced with multiple transitions and challenges.
We’ve heard about children being labelled as “hyperactive”, or “slow learner”; but these are all clinical diagnosis and should be examined thoroughly by a professional.
